Ann Barlow

Care Home Manager

I trained as a Nursery Nurse and spent many years raising my own four children and looking after other people's children. In 1996 I returned to work, part time, as a domiciliary carer eventually being promoted and working full time.

Still working for Essex County Council, I transferred as a Residential Care Home Manager. I managed various homes and then a small, private home in Colchester before I came to Boucherne August 2007.

The moment I walked through the door I knew it was somewhere I wanted to be part of. It really is 'The Boucherne Family'. I have loved being able to continue the relationship centred care which is the foundation of Boucherne. We try to make Boucherne home from home.

I care deeply about my staff and residents and enjoy spending time with them.

Boucherne Staff

Our well trained and experienced staff are the key to ensuring our residents get the help they need in every aspect of their lives, from gentle minimum support to total care.

Our manager, Ann Barlow, has over twenty years experience of managing care homes and is registered with the Care Quality Commission. Ann leads a team of five supervisors (Senior Carers) and some twenty Care staff, some of whom have been with us for over ten years. Staff training and development is ongoing and continually updated. All our staff care about their work and the wellbeing of the residents and make the home what it is today.
